When I visited Boston for the first time last weekend, I was pleasantly surprised in many ways. The architecture is fabulous. The food is excellent. And the people, the life of any city, are incredibly kind and welcoming.

Last week, the ladies and gents of travel42 had a meeting to talk about how we can improve our product to better serve our travel agents. One of my favorite parts of the meeting was hearing feedback on how a sampling of our customers use travel42. Some of you print out destination guides to give to your clients as supplemental information. Some of you use our professionally written, unbiased reviews of hotels to make selections. Some of you create itineraries for your customers, from hotels to meals to museums and recreational activities.
When I use travel42 to plan trips, I tend to be in the camp of the itinerary-creator. But instead of creating a rigid schedule, I like to add more points of interest to my trip than I know I can fit in. You could say I'm like a kid in a candy store when I create a trip in travel42. (I'll take that... and that... and this... and three of those...) I'm ok with that, and I certainly don't feel pressure to visit every place on the list. I like to have options and cater my day to how I'm feeling, and I always take time to explore new things that come across my path. That's what travel is all about, isn't it—discovering the new and unexpected? More...

Coat weather seemed to sneak up on us in North Carolina, so I can only imagine how it feels in the rest of the country, but the falling temperatures don't have to restrict your vacation options. This winter, consider a visit to Boston: a historic U.S. city with a small-town feel built into a lively metropolis.More...
